Vasilissis Sofias Avenue and Kokkali Street

The Friends of Music Society welcomes once again the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra, with which it collaborates to promote and showcase Greek musical creation. Chaired by Professor of Musicology Nikos Maliaras and with conductor Byron Fidetzis as its Artistic Director, in 2019 the Orchestra participated in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the founding of the “Lilian Voudouri” Music Library. This year, the Orchestra appears again at Megaron, in a concert dedicated to the memory of Aris and Lilian Voudouri. Apart from Antonio Vivaldi’s ever-delightful Four Seasons, the acclaimed symphonic ensemble will present the Greek premiere of Welsh composer Carl Jenkins’s Stabat Mater, joining forces with Musica – The Friends of Music Choir, under the baton of Dimitris Bouzanis.

Sponsor: Lillian Voudouri Foundation
The concert’s proceeds will be offered in support of the “Lilian Voudouri” Music Library of The Friends of Music Society.
