The 4th International Festival of Dance Competition in Kalamata will take place on October, 2022 in the indoor Sporthall "Tenta" of Kalamata. It is organized by "Kalamata Dance Challenge Association of Greece" and PolisArt Social Company with the support of the Municipality of Kalamata and the Messinian Chamber. It is under the auspices & funding of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and of the Greek Tourism Organization - Ministry of Tourism.
The world of dance will meet again in Kalamata, as the pole of attraction and union of the dance community worldwide. The "City of Dance" will welcome different groups and Performers of the Greek and world dance community, famous dance personalities, top couples and danceSport champions, for the first time in Greece. It will host 50 distinguished International Adjudicators from Greece and abroad, while the City of Kalamata will be flooded with more than 1500 people, who will compete with noble rivalry and offer a rich spectacle of dance variety to an art-loving audience.
This year's program includes dance competitions in all genres and categories of dance, group art performances and dance shows by people with and without disabilities. Apart this, the KDC Festival also includes many more activities such us workshops, exhibitions, tributes, excursions & tours, children's activities, treats of local Messinian products etc
The Kalamata Dance Cup festival invites young dancers, artists - creators and dance athletes to highlight their work and showcase their talent, claiming distinctions or the Dance Cup as award of Kalamata. It treats each participant equally and promotes cultural creation & cooperation.
All participants will have the chance to enjoy the KDC Festival that combines Arts, Sports and Gala with an amazing weekend getaway of "thematic tourism" in the beautiful seaside city of Kalamata, just a couple of hours away from Athens.
Amateur or professional dancers of all ages and all styles of dances, in solo, duets, couples or teams can participate in the Kalamata Dance Cup.
The dance weekend includes also parallel activities, such as a tour of historical and tourist sites of the city of Kalamata and the Prefecture, a ride from the cycling path of the city from the Castle of Kalamata to the old market and historical centre, up to the coastal zone, as well as a small taste of Messinian local products.
The program includes dance competitions, group art performances and dance shows by people with and without disabilities.
