The Architecture Awards were established for the first time in Greece in 2000, by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture and are the highest distinction for an implemented project in Greece. The awards, which are given every four years, aim to highlight contemporary, Greek architecture, which stands out for its high construction quality and its harmony with the environment.
This year, the Hellenic Institute of Architecture announced a competition entitled "EIA Architecture Award 2022" for architectural works located in Greece and completed in the period 2017-2022, regardless of their scale and function.
From the 97 submissions, eleven projects were shortlisted. The final assessment of the award-winning projects is not based simply on drawings and photographic material, but is essentially complemented by the visit of the jury to the buildings, focusing on their spatial experience and the discussions with their architects and users.
