Athens – Epidaurus Festival 2024

The Athens Epidaurus Festival celebrates its 69th anniversary this year with an inspiring programme of events from 1 June to 1 September 2024. As always, artistic productions and performances will be held at some of the most iconic locations in Athens and Epidaurus.

As Greece's leading cultural institution and one of Europe's oldest festivals, the Athens Epidaurus Festival hosts an impressive roster of distinguished music, opera, dance and theatre artists from around the world, collaborating with renowned Greek and international organisations and attracting international audiences from around the world.

Highlight performances for the 2024 Athens Epidaurus Festival include:

Odeon of Herodes Atticus

• The operas Tosca – Giacomo Puccini and Traviata – Giuseppe Verdi performed by the Greek National Opera
• The concert of Loreena McKennitt
• The celebration of World Music Day, with the National Symphony Orchestra of ERT, the piano prodigy Elisey Mysin and Michael Economou 

Ancient Theater of Epidaurus

• Iphigenia in Aulis of Euripides, directed by Timofey Culyabin
• Bacchae of Euripides, performed by the Greek National Theater and directed by Thanos Papakonstantinou
• The Suppliants of Aeschylus, performed by the Theatre of Art & the Theatre of Neos Kosmos and directed by Marianna Kalbaris
• Oresteia of Aeschylus, performed by the Greek National Theater and directed by Giannis Terzopoulos
