Colours of Chania

There is something so mesmerising about the historic city of Chania. Our first encounter was a Sunday afternoon stroll along the old Venetian harbour awash with atmospheric buzzing cafes and waterfront restaurants perfect for people watching and taking in the incredible views My 5 year old son also said it was the best spot in Greece for feeding the fish as the sea is so clear and blue. . But nothing prepared us for the beauty of the old town which lay behind. An enchanting labrynth of colourful streets, beautiful bougainvillea in bloom , stunning hand made jewellery and craft shops and atmospheric and inviting courtyard tavernas (where I tasted one of my finest ever moussakas) After an afternoon of adventure we said goodbye to the colourful city and its most welcoming people filled with happiness ... Chania is a city that is really good for the soul .....
