Amazing Thessaloniki

I first discovered Thessaloniki in 1991, during my first trip in Greece and I immediately fell in love with it. I stayed at a hotel near the small Byzantine Church of Panagia Chalkeon. Since then, every time I visited Greece, I stopped at least for a couple of hours in Thessaloniki. I like to walk on Egnatia Street and feel the vibrant beat of this city, which, more than the Big Apple, seems to me never sleeps. First thing we do in the mornings is go to the market and shop for fresh vegetables, fruit and fish and then have a cake and a cup of Greek coffee, watching the passers-by. The streets are always full and people seem so relaxed! We also love Aristotelous square, the White Tower and Ano Poli - in fact, we love all Thessaloniki!
