Goran Bregovic live in Thessaloniki

Goran Bregović and his Wedding and Funeral Band are coming to Thessaloniki’s PAOK Sports Arena on 3 October, with a concert celebrating the energy and emotion of Balkan music.

Known for blending traditional brass band sounds with rock, classical and Romani influences, Sarajevo-born Bregović, 75, is one of the most original and widely celebrated musicians from the former Yugoslavia. His music has reached international audiences through soundtracks for films such as Time of the Gypsies and Underground, and through songs like Ederlezi, Kalasnjikov and Ausencia, all of which will feature in the concert.

The evening also includes music from Three Letters from Sarajevo – a project inspired by his multicultural hometown – and Greek favourites such as To Venzinadiko and Pes mou thee mou (God if it is), performed in his signature orchestral-meets-Balkan style.

Expect an evening that moves from joyful celebration to soulful reflection, all delivered with Bregović’s unique flair.
