In Greece, summer holidays begin in May and last until October. And you still haven’t booked your ticket?

A top holiday destination
Even if you didn’t experience 1960s, you’ll still know that Greece has been famous ever since then, throughout the world, for its sun and beaches – and today remains one of the top holiday destinations in the world. The blue sea, exotic beaches, bright Aegean light, hospitable locals, islands with their unique architecture and culture, in addition to the high standards of service, five-star hotels, boutique hotels, spas and marinas, make Greece an ideal holiday location. It’s a country drenched in sunlight, living by the sea year round!

Summer all year round, for everyone
From May until October Greece enjoys summer and invites you to enjoy it too, with all your senses. Swimming in crystalline seas, endless hours of relaxation on exotic beaches and secret coves. Sailing in the Ionian and Aegean, windsurfing, kitesurfing, beach volleyball, kayaking. Scuba diving in the deep and exploring underwater sea caves. Walking through archaeological sites and paths that gaze out at the sea, tavernas on the waterfront, beach bars with parties that last until dawn, wedding ceremonies with views of the big blue, traditional fairs and festivals with the music of lutes and violins. Greece welcomes everyone!

Greece: A miracle of nature and culture
14,800 kilometres of coastline. 408 beaches and 10 marinas awarded the Blue Flag. Among everything else that makes Greece unique, is the fact that, in such a small country you can find so many beaches, so many diverse landscapes, cultures and civilisations.

The Aegean light shines bright on the Greek islands, and is unlike anything else you’ve ever seen. The feeling that the crystal-clear water of the Aegean leaves on your skin is so refreshing and revitalising that you will be renewed.

Authentic holidays in Greece
The Greek islands invite you to have unforgettable experiences: At the port of Kalymnos, fishermen catch seafood that they’ll sell to the islands’ tavernas. In Pyrgos, in Tinos, craftsmen carve marble, for which the island is renowned: you’ll find the works of famous Tinian sculptors, such as Halepas, at the Museum of Marble Crafts and at the Cultural Foundation of Tinos.

In Hersonissos in Sifnos, the potters light their ovens to bake their ceramic pots, which you’ll find in all the islands’ markets, and will make your food taste delicious. In the coffee shops of Lesvos you’ll be treated to an aromatic ouzo and in Crete, to their world-famous raki, paired with barley rusk, local cheese, raw artichoke and olives. In Batsi in Andros, the fishermen mend their nets and prepare their trawls for night fishing. In Amorgos, a little outside of Hora with its impressive windmills, farmers thresh and winnow the fava beans you’ll later order for dinner.

The famous ‘Psimeni’ raki (heated with honey) of Amorgos awaits at the little bars and coffee shops, whose tables are set outside under the arcades of Hora’s whitewashed cobblestone streets. In the Hora of Astypalaia, Serifos, Patmos, Folegandros, children play hide and seek in the squares and housewives sit on the stoop gossiping and embroidering. It’s not a postcard. These are authentic Greek images of today, that exist hand in hand with nature, art and tradition.
